Whispers of Varanasi
Do Pal Sangeet Ke
Hello Friends,
Last week, I was in Varanasi. Every time I visit, the city offers a retreat unlike any other - something deeply personal and sacred. While wandering through the lanes near Bengali Tola, I meditated in the temple of Lahiri Mahasaya. It became my evening ritual - not just because it was the Samadhi place of the great Kriya Master, but also for its proximity to the banks of the Ganga.
I met a young man, Pt. Dubey, who runs a nearby music institute. From him, I learned two pieces of classical sangeet. A simple man with deep insights into Kriya (a scientific meditation technique), our conversations went far beyond music - we spoke about the Bohr-Einstein debate and the profound connection between musical notes and the creation of the universe.

What I truly miss about Varanasi
… The friendly people who always had time for others
वाराणसी में एक अपनापन है.….शायद ऐसा शहर भारत में कहीं और नहीं है !
… Delicious street food, especially the chaat and local snacks (Kachori, Jalebi)
वो कुल्हड़ वाली चाय... जिसकी खुशबू ही दिल को सुकून दे देती है !
… The chanting in temples
हर हर महादेव
शिव की महिमा अपरंपार है - ये जयघोष जो पूरे वाराणसी में गूंजती है !
… Bathing in the Ganga
… The Ganga Aarti, with its mesmerising lights, music, and devotion
… Local libraries and bookshops
… Strollling on the narrow old streets of Kashi
Even if you don't have any money, you can still survive in this city. Many bhandaras offer free, high-quality food to everyone. This is my fifth visit to the city after marriage, and each time I come, it offers a new perspective. It always leaves me wanting to stay a little longer. Observing the daily lives of the locals makes you realise how much joy can be found in the simple pleasures of life. You'll often find people engaged in deep, thoughtful conversations at tea stalls - moments that carry a quiet richness of their own.
This city carries a deeper spiritual message: Live your life with trust - God will take care of you. Be a sincere devotee, do your work with dedication, and embrace the joy in each moment. Varanasi teaches you to surrender, not in weakness, but in peace.
This rap will give you a flavour of Kashi!

Could you please share post on kriya technique
Only 5 times after marriage...
Varanasi is different place. I feel some power existence over there because found some huge transformations inside. To be honest, I love south siva temples. But Kashi Vishwanath temple is different.
My plan is to visit the temple yearly once...
Simply I feel rest in peace after visiting there and surrendered to him...
