Kriya - The secret of secrets
The Conclusion
Continuing my previous post, we will delve into some of the dialogues featured in Volume III.
Meet together, talk together, let your minds apprehend alike. Common be your prayer, your assembly’s end and aim, common be your purpose, common be your purpose, common be your deliberation and common your policy. Common be your desires, united be your hearts, united be your intention, so that there may be a thorough union among you.
Begin right now, do selfless service, japa, meditation, study of books and develop those qualities that come under yamas and niyamas. Evil qualities should be rooted out and sattvic qualities, such as universal love, mercy, truth, honesty, justice, straight-forwardness, spirit of service, humility etc. should be cultivated.
Those who desire to grow in morality and spirituality, and those who wish to evolve rapidly must keep a daily record of their actions.
A current requires both a positive and negative flow in a material medium to light an electric bulb, so too, freedom, which is spirit needs to be coordinated with resources, which are matter. Spirit and matter by coming together light the mind.
Panch bhutas, earth representing the physical body, water the emotional life, fire the mental and moral life with its urges and passions and air the spiritual life. The akasha or the ether is the quintessence of life, the fifth element and symbolizes faith and insight.
As per R N Tagore, “Man can destroy and plunder, earn and accumulate, invent and discover, but he is great because his soul comprehends all.”
The self is the enemy of the Self. The self has to be made the friend of the Self. Don’t let the self be depressed, instead raise your self by the Self. Let the religious life begin with the universal family relationship by its first conception by helping others through love and service and removing one’s sufferings by devotion and surrender.
Start with an atom of faith, even as an experiment and get the conviction that such an approach is effective. Live a life of loving and serving others. Make your inner-self stronger, pure and quieter by devotion and self-surrender.
The great principle is adored as the Divine Mother, as Maha Kali, Maha Lakshmi and Maha Sarasvati, representing the aspects of tamas, rajas and sattva. As a rope is made of three strands, the universe consists of these three gunas or modes or qualities of Prakriti.
Spirituality is an ocean, on this path, you will have to take out your bones, crush them into powder extract oil from them and burn the wick with this oil for years, only then will God and Master appear before you.
A good formula for peace and bliss would be “Nothing exists, nothing belongs to me. I am neither mind nor body, Immortal Self I am.
Develop your mind to be so sensitive that you can’t remain composed until you have omitted your wrong actions, intentions, faults and follies.
No one can eat for you to satisfy your hunger. You must prefer being worn out to being rusted. Even a failure or a defeat is more glorious than the lukewarm deadness and inactivity. Do not expect others to do what you can do.”
There are certain truths, which require to be hammered on the minds of genuine religious aspirants. The nail must go deep, so deep that one cannot pull it out. Hammering, practice, repetition, repetition after repetition, till Mastery is attained.
The four foundations are satya, shancha, tapas and dhama - truthfulness, purity of thought, word and deed, self-mortification and mercifulness. There are four parts of the mind. Manas thinks or knows, Chitta likes or dislikes, Buddhi discriminates and decides and Ahamkara controls the whole function with pure or impure ideas of his “I and mine”. Put the iron in a fire of experience and suffering and go on hammering and molding with a scriptural body, meditation, Guru confession, repentance, prayers and all known methods of improvement.
Every saint is by himself a spiritual lake and the healthiness or unhealthiness of the waters depends on the all-told cumulative degree of purity or impurity of its residents and users.
The divine life is a divine medicine (penicillin of penicillins) for all bodily and mental diseases of various types. It is the medicine of life. The darkness of blindness is at an end. Great ones need to simply utter a word or two.
Valmiki attained God consciousness by repeating even “Mara Mara”. Here is the Kavach Mantra (Guru Mantra)
Aum Brahma Vishnu Maheshvaraha Svadanthi Mantra Devata, Susena Napala Rakshaka Hari Aum Phat SvahaGet up at Brahmanmuhurta for a clear mind. There is a spiritual influence and mysterious silence in the small hours of the morning. All saints and yogis practice meditation during this period and send their spiritual vibrations to the whole world.
AUM with A is the waking state or virat, U is the dreaming state and M is the sleeping state or Ishvara.
