Continuing the previous post, the following morning we woke up early and headed towards the ghat located close to Guptar, a sacred spot along the River Saryu. This ghat carries immense significance in Hindu texts, as it is believed to be the exact location where Lord Ram meditated and performed Jal Samadhi to ascend back to his divine realm, 'Vaikunta.' The atmosphere at the ghat during the early morning hours was absolutely delightful. We enjoyed a delicious breakfast near the iconic Veena 40-Foot Veena in Ayodhya, paying homage to the legendary Lata Mangeshkar.
Another must visit place is magnificent Kanak Bhawan. It was gifted to Devi Sita by Kaikei after her marriage to Lord Ram, serving as their private palace. Over time, it underwent renovations by Vikramaditya and Vrish Bhanu Kunwari, still standing strong today. Inside the sanctum, you will find the main idols of Lord Ram and Devi Sita, adding to the spiritual aura of the temple. Afterward, we purchased a kurta with a ram print, along with some souvenirs, and prepared to board the Vande Bharat train to Varanasi. The must-try delicacies in Ayodhya include Kachori sabji, Jalebi, and kulhad wali chai. Currently, the area remains untouched by commercialization, and the locals are innocent people. The community was overjoyed with their increased income and development following the construction of the Ram Temple.
The unexpected incident occurred at the station where passengers rushed into the wrong coaches of Vande Bharat due to the display error, resulting in overcrowding in one or two bogeys. The error made by the rail staffs had a direct impact on us as well. It was quite a hassle as we had to rely on the assistance of the train police to finally reach our seat, which took nearly an hour.
Our next destination, my second home Kashi, offers a plethora of fascinating places to visit and dine. Stay tuned.
